Unfortunately we have seen 4 cases of Parvovirus this week – sadly one puppy did not make it and another two dogs are seriously ill.
This is the second time this year we have seen Parvo at easipetcare Chatham and so more dog owners need to be made aware of this potentially fatal virus…
Parvo is a highly contagious virus that can be spread from dog to dog via direct or indirect contact with their faeces. Dogs that develop the disease normally show signs of the illness within 3-7 days and these may signs include lethargy, vomiting, fever, and diarrhoea usually containing blood.
It is really important that dogs are vaccinated to help prevent the chance of contracting Parvo.
