RHD2 Rabbit Vaccine Now In Stock

16th February 2018

At easipetcare we love pets of all shapes and sizes and we work hard to care for as many of them as we possibly can. That’s why we are pleased to announce that we are now able to stock the RHD2 vaccine for our bunny clients!

What is RHD?

Rabbit Haemorrhagic Disease is an extremely contagious virus and sadly is almost always fatal for infected rabbits. RHD has been present in the UK for years and years, however unfortunately a new strain of this virus has now also been identified (RHD2).

As RHD2 has some differences to the original RHD virus, the original RHD vaccine is not considered effective against this new strain.

How many vaccinations would my rabbit need?

At the very least, our bouncing bunny friends need to be protected against Myxomatosis and RHD. This requires a single vaccination to begin with, followed by an annual booster . Owners who also wish to protect against RHD2 will require 2 additional vaccinations annually to be effective.

Can I get more information?

Of course! Simply pop in to see us to discuss your pet’s requirements with our friendly team or contact us  🙂
