Q&A with our Vet Marta

10th July 2019

” Please insure your pets”

Name: Marta Wegorowska

Position: Veterinary Surgeon

Location: easipetcare Streatham

What is your favourite animal?

I absolutely loves dogs, but I also love guinea pigs.. No wait, I really love horses too! OK I just love all animals.

At what age did you decide to work in the animal industry?

I don’t know when I decided but my mum always tells me about when I first started at nursery I would always take twice as long to get there because I would be going from snail to snail, stopping to look at them and say hello! Then at pre-school, I would cry when my mum left me, so they used a guinea pig to distract me as a trade off!

Do you have any pets of your own?

Here in the UK I don’t have any pets, it’s such a shame.  But back home in Poland, I have my family dog who is a complete cross-breed.  When we first got him, my fiancé transported him by bicycle inside his jacket to bring him home, a journey of 100km!

What is the funniest or most memorable experience you’ve had with a client?

The most memorable was a tortoise who was brought in for a beak trim.  She was very content walking around the waiting room delighting all the other waiting owners and wasn’t nervous at all.  But as soon as she got into the consult room she must have known something was going to happen.  She retreated into her shell and despite an enormous amount of time spent by the owner and myself and even a third colleague doing things like tickling her leg, talking to her and tempting her with food she was having none of it! It was a fun consultation!

What is your favourite thing about working for easipetcare?

Its lovely working with people who genuinely care about the welfare of their patients.

If you had a different career what would it be?

I would be a horse whisperer!!

What is the best piece of advice you would give to a pet owner or client?

Please insure your pets.

Do you or have you done any additional volunteer work with animals outside of work?

Now I’ve been qualified for two years and my surgical skills are improved, I’m looking at volunteering with an overseas charity who provide free dog neutering services.

What kind of animal do you think you are most like and why?

I think I’m like a busy honey bee.  I like doing and making things, but enjoy returning to the hive for comfort and warmth of friends and family.

At easipetcare we are passionate about delivering a first class service at affordable prices. Your pet’s welfare is always our first priority.
